Head-on collision settled
Our 24-year-old client and his 20-year-old wife had been married just over a month when they traveled to Colorado to visit a sick relative. On their way back to Texas they were struck head-on on US 287 in Stratford County, near Amarillo, Texas. Our client’s Volkswagen Jetta was struck by a 2009 Ford Ranger truck when the 25-year-old driver crossed the center line at 2:05 a.m. The defendant driver claimed driver fatigue.
Our lawyers and insurance adjusters at GVI are trained to not assume that an individual defendant has a minimum limits policies or that their single insurance policy is the extent of the coverage. Through research, experience, and persistence we were able to recover under three different policies for our client.
Tire Explosion Case Settled
Our client worked in a small-town tire shop in West Texas. He suffered head injuries when a center pivot sprinkler system tire exploded while he was servicing the tire. Our work safety experts proved that the employer was negligent in failing to provide an OSHA-mandated cage in which to change the tire. Such a cage could have saved our client from suffering fractures and significant brain injuries. The insurance company agreed to pay the majority of the medical bills in addition to the settlement payment.
Firm Reaches $17K Settlement with Carnival Cruise Lines
Attorney Matt Lopez of Glasheen, Valles, & Inderman, recently settled a bodily injury claim against Carnival Cruise Lines. Our client was a guest upon a Carnival Cruise Line vessel, the Ecstasy, set to make a round trip from Galveston Bay, Texas to Cozumel, Mexico. Upon the ship’s return trip from Cozumel, the pilot made an abrupt turn and caused the ship to tilt, throwing the passengers to the deck. As a result our client suffered soft tissue injuries. Our firm settled this client’s claim for $17,000. After fees, expenses and medical bills, our client recovered $7,829.12, net to client.

Raised in Muleshoe, Texas, Matthew understands the unique culture of the panhandle and uses that knowledge to aggressively represent personal injury clients in the pre-litigation stage of their cases. We are excited about the opportunities and future of our Odessa Office.
Video Animation & Graphics
To maximize results for our clients, we produce our own animation so that a jury can see for themselves how an accident happened. Our full-time digital media producer, Don Jenkins, has over 15 years of experience in video production.
