Jim Hund became of-counsel to the law firm after leaving an active trial practice which spanned almost 40 years. Jim has tried many complicated civil cases and has been lead appellate counsel is close to 100 appeals. In his of counsel position to the law firm, Jim lends his extensive litigation and appellate experience to complicated cases involving clients with catastrophic injuries.
He attended Texas Christian University where he played basketball. Jim graduated from Baylor Law School cum laude, as an associate editor of the Law Review and a member of the Board of Barristers.
Jim was recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer from 2003 to 2020 and has received the honor again in 2024 (only 5% of attorneys are selected to the Super Lawyers list). He was also the 1988 Lubbock Outstanding Young Lawyer, the 1990 Outstanding Director of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, an adjunct professor at the Texas Tech School of Law from 1991 to 1993, and the 1999 recipient of the State Bar of Texas President’s Award. In 2005, Jim was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyer which is composed of preeminent members of the Trial Bar from the United States and Canada, with membership never being more than 1% of the lawyers of any state. Jim is also a life sustaining fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation, members of which are nominated because of their dedication to the administration of justice and high professional standing among their peers.
