According to officials, the Slaton Fire Department, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department, and Texas DPS all responded to the scene of a one-vehicle rollover wreck on Saturday evening.
According to authorities, Sanjuan Nava 46-years-old, was headed toward Slaton eastbound on Highway 84 around 6:40 p.m. when the wreck occurred.
Nava was alone in the vehicle and was transported to UMC with minor injuries. Nava was charged with a DWI.
According to the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 31% of the total vehicle traffic fatalities in 2013.
Between 1991 and 2013, the rate of drunk driving fatalities per 100,000 population has decreased 49% nationally.
