AMARILLO, Texas—Attorney Kevin Glasheen and the personal injury law firm of Glasheen, Valles & Inderman, LLP filed a lawsuit Tuesday morning in Potter County District Court on behalf of a minor child after he was sexually abused by Dr. Jeffrey D. Cone, a neurosurgeon who owns and operates the Neurological Surgery clinic in Amarillo, Texas. To protect the identity of the minor child and his parent, their names are withheld, and pseudonyms are used in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit alleges that Dr. Cone was the minor’s doctor since he was just nine months old, and when the minor turned 15 years old, Dr. Cone gave him a job performing office management tasks and even shadowing the doctor in surgery. Dr. Cone began buying the minor expensive gifts, and he used his position as the minor’s boss and mentor to coerce the minor into allowing him to sexually molest and assault the minor. Dr. Cone exploited the minor’s trust as both his employer and medical doctor.
Glasheen said, “We are going to take everything this man has and do everything the law allows to make him pay for this horrible crime.” Glasheen says he would like anyone who has information about sexual abuse by Dr. Cone to contact the law firm.
