Hit-and-run leaves one man seriously injured

The Lubbock Police Department is now investigating a reported hit-and-run as a domestic dispute.

According to officials, the victim, Steven Cano, 34-years-old, was involved in an argument with a female passenger of an SUV Wednesday evening.

Cano jumped onto the hood of the vehicle in the Furr’s Cafeteria parking lot. The driver then drove west on 60th Street with Cano still on the hood. He reportedly fell off at the intersection of 60th and Slide and the SUV drove away. Police say the driver and passenger returned shortly thereafter and are cooperating with the investigation.

Cano is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The names of the driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle have not been released.
