Midland/Odessa latest numbers on traffic fatalities

In 2010 drivers were 2.5 times more likely to be killed in traffic crashes in the Odessa District than the rest of Texas. 

The Midland/Odessa Transportation Alliance has released the latest number of traffic fatalities in the area, which are up 100 percent in Midland and Ector counties.

In 2013, Midland County had 41 fatal crashes, Ector county had 50, and there were 139 in Odessa and expected to increase.Although, drivers being aware of this can prevent increase awareness and the numbers from rising.

Each fatality costs about $2.6 million, which means that last year alone that Ector and Midland county spent 106 million dollars on fatal crashes.
