An Odessa man was killed in a fatal wreck, the crash occurred on Tuesday at Loop 338 and West Yukon. According to the police, a Jeep Grand Cherokee ran a stop sign in the construction zone, hitting a dodge minivan.
The driver of the minivan was 45-year-old Esteban Rojo, who later died from his injuries. The other passengers in the van were also taken to Medical Center Hospital with injuries.
There is no word if charges will be filed.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, in 2012, 683 people were killed and 133,000 were injured due to crashes that involved red light and stop sign running.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says there were more than 2.3 million reported intersection-related crashes, resulting in more than 7,770 fatal wrecks and approximately 733,000 injuries in 2008.
