Three people are injured after a wreck in Andrews County on Tuesday night. The wreck occurred just after 7 p.m. on FM 181 about two miles south of State Highway 176.
DPS Troopers said that a 2007 Gray Dodge Pickup was disabled on the shoulder of FM 181 when a 2012 White Ford pickup stopped to help the driver. Then a 1996 Chevy Suburban hit a trailer that the Dodge pickup was pulling.
The driver and two passengers in the Suburban were airlifted to Medical Center Hospital where they are in serious but stable condition.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation:
-The Nation saw 1,063 fewer fatalities from motor vehicle crashes in 2013 than in 2012—a 3.1-percent decrease.
-While motor vehicle crash fatalities decreased by 3.1 percent overall, the number of people who died in alcohol-impaired- driving crashes decreased by 2.5 percent. In 2013, 10,076 people lost their lives in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes.
-Over the past 10 years, there has been a reduction of nearly 25 percent in the number of fatalities on the Nation’s roadways.
