Two school bus crashes in Lubbock on Thursday


19th and Inler:

One person suffered moderate injuries and another suffered minor injuries when a truck collided with a school bus at 19th and Inler on Thursday afternoon. No children were aboard the vehicle at the time of the wreck. This was one of two bus wrecks in Lubbock on this day.

45th and Ave Q:

Police arrived at the scene where an SUV at 45th and Ave Q hit a school bus from Deming, New Mexico around 7:15 a.m. The chaperon on the bus said that a black SUV hit the side door of the school bus.

The children were in Lubbock for a robotics competition and were riding in a bus borrowed from Roswell, New Mexico. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

There were 16 people on the bus including 13 students, 2 chaperones, and the driver.
