In November 2023, Laney was promoted to Partner at GVILAW, a testament to her exceptional dedication and expertise in personal injury law. With a strong reputation as an aggressive litigator, Laney has a proven track record of recovering millions of dollars for her clients. Her extensive experience includes representing clients injured in automobile and truck wrecks, slip-and-fall incidents, on-the-job injuries, trampoline park accidents, and sexual abuse cases. Her passion for advocating on behalf of wrongful death and injury victims against large corporations truly sets her apart

Laney earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in May 2012, and went on to receive her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in May 2015. She became licensed to practice in Texas in November 2015 and in New Mexico in April 2016. She began clerking with the firm while in law school in May 2014.

During law school, Laney was an active member of the Board of Barristers and Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, and served as Chief Ambassador of the Dean’s Student Ambassador Corps. She excelled in several competitions, securing national championships in both the American Bar Association Arbitration Competition and the National Pre-Trial Competition. In 2024, Laney was honored as a Texas Rising Star by Thomson Reuters, a prestigious recognition awarded to only 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state each year.

Outside of her professional achievements, Laney and her husband, Spenser, enjoy traveling and spending time with their two children, Cora and Dax, particularly in the pool. They are committed to giving back to the Lubbock community by supporting organizations such as University Medical Center Children’s Hospital, Ballet Lubbock, Legal Aid Society, March of Dimes, and the Science Spectrum. In 2023, they established an endowed scholarship at Texas Tech School of Law to support students dedicated to excellence in legal advocacy.
