Six-year-old twin sisters, Mia and Mya Coy of Odessa were killed on July 3rd near their family’s fireworks stand when 36-year-old Angelica Garcia was driving while intoxicated. Garcia was headed eastbound on Business 20 service road which ends at Club Drive when she drove through a barricade and into a field where she struck the two young girls with her vehicle. The twin sisters were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
In cases like these, the parents of Mia and Mya would be entitled to file a wrongful death claim against the driver and any alcohol establishments she may have drunk at prior to the crash.
