Three Killed in a Head-On Crash Involving Two 18-Wheelers

Three people were killed Wednesday morning when two 18-wheelers collided head on in Rockwall County, Texas, on Interstate 30. A westbound 18-wheeler crossed the center median and collided with an eastbound 18-wheeler head-on. A third vehicle was also involved. Police have not yet released the names of the victims.

Distracted driving is a leading cause of crashes in the United States. Our firm has extensive experience in handling cases involving distracted drivers. We have cell-phone experts who can download the cell phone’s data after a crash, allowing us to see exactly what the defendant driver was doing on their phone in the moments leading up to the crash. Often times we find that the driver was not only using his or her phone immediately before the crash, but was using several different apps, switching back and forth between them. This increased level of already-dangerous distraction leads juries to award large verdicts, and sometimes even punitive damages.
